Where I Don’t Belong

Assignment 2: Where I Don’t Belong // An Automotive Shop
Photo 402 / Steven Rubin

I chose to photograph the automotive repair shop in my neighborhood because not only do I personally not belong there (I can’t drive), but it wasn’t that welcoming for others either. There was something about the neon lights that surrounded the windows that drew me in, but every single window was completely covered in blinds keeping anyone on the outside from looking in. There were also surveillance cameras on each corner of the building. I thought the lights and the blinds created an eerie but beautiful¬†scene.
